SUNDAY- Arrival Panama City /Homestay
Arrival Panama City International Airport. Greeting by ILERI staff in airport lobby. Transfer to Altos de Bethania, a friendly, quiet residential community, approximately twenty minutes from Panama City and only a few minutes away from El Dorado shopping complex and the Parque Natural Metropolitano dry forest. ILERI serves as the meeting point and social center for all activities. Meet the Program Director as you're introduced to your host families.

MIDDLE CLASS HOST FAMILIES are neighbors or friends of our homestay director. Regardless, all families are monitored and continually evaluated. Host families provide daily breakfast and dinner. Daily lunch is provided at the language school. Student bedrooms are equipped with fans. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one or two other group members of the same general language ability. All homes are within a 10-20 minute walk from the school. When necessary, additional convenient meeting points will be established.

MONDAY- FRIDAY - Daily Language Classes
Daily student language classes focus on conversation, with grammar as a tool in learning. Students live a cultural and linguistic experience through the teaching methodology and their interaction with host families and local people. Class size averages 3-6 students per native teacher, assuring individual attention and ample opportunity for participation. Some classes may be incorporated into the scheduled excursion.

The following half day activities -sequence may vary- are included:

Morning walking orientation of the neighborhood and El Dorado shopping district.
Afternoon hike in the nearby Parque Metropolitano tropical dry forest.
SOMOS Humanitarian. You'll receive a list of the most needed items and stop at a major mall, where you can shop and purchase those items. Please budget a minimum of $15. Continue to a local orphanage, where you'll help the children with their homework or play games. Later, learn to salsa and merengue!
Visit the Panama Canal, where you'll witness the mammoth ships as they pass through the Miraflores Locks.
Visit Casco Viejo & Amador Causeway.

SATURDAY - Pacific Playa Resort
Enjoy a scenic drive over the Bridge of the Americas and along the Pan America Highway on your way to San Carlos, Playa Ensenada. Your beach pass includes access to all facilities, lunch, snacks, and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Relax, swim, or participate in beach volleyball or soccer.
